Opis produktu:

The interest for ww2 and german third reich collectibles are huge world wide, and books related to the subject is always popular. The book has a nice layout and is stacked with has large pictures of details of decals, paint, straps and further on.

The interest for WW2 and German third Reich collectibles is largely widespread. Condensed in 170 pages divided into 4 chapters are SS helmets, camouflage/repaints, 83 decal helmets and 8 SS cloth headgear, all presented in 624 high-quality pictures. The book has a nice layout and is lavishly illustrated with large pictures of details of decals, paint, straps and more. The helmets' history is outlined by their owners, and many of the items have never been published before. Foreword written by Ken Niewiarowicz (German combat Helmets) and Kelly Hicks (ss-Steel).

Gisle and Jan have outdone themselves in compiling, photographing and presenting what I consider to be a unique and fresh look at the helmet hobby. We can see an immense array of battle headgear, issued to and worn by the young men who volunteered to defend Norway (and Europe) from Bolshevik communism, which in that day was a real and urgent danger to the West. As an SS aficionado, I am particularly attracted the superb array of original, named ET and Quist M40 helmets. I have always felt the M40s were some of the hardest to find, given that they were produced for far less a period than either M35s or M42s; and more often than not, were swallowed up by the Soviet juggernaut. So to see these nice specimens is a real treat that collectors should not take for granted. The photography is excellent and provides us an authentic view of the insignia, paint, and markings. For the camouflage specimens this is especially important to the learning experience. Another excellent facet of this reference volume is the grouping of superb SS M43 caps, especially those of fine wool, with flatwire insignia. These are a real treat to see so nicely presented; and given that many collectors have a variety of artifacts in their collections, these are well-suited to be within this book. A lot of hard work has gone into the creation of this book, and it will take its place among the pantheon of exceptional collector references of the modern era.
