Opis produktu:

In this fascinating, detailed account, Wayne Mutza takes a look deep inside this extraordinary, little-known, but very special unit of the U.S. Air Force. Published here for the first time is the colorful history of the men and their helicopters that made their living with the legendary SOG teams of the Army Special Forces. From secret cross-border missions during the Vietnam War to current operations in the Middle East. Also included is a special section of Green Hornet emblems, and detailed lists of every aircraft flown by the 20th Special Operations Squadron.

The Green Hornets are a very little known organization that spent years in scenarios totally uncommon to Air Force duty and qualify for many praises from U.S. Army Special Forces. The 20th inserted and extracted Army teams involved in SOG covert operations, participated in many rescues and is unique in that, to my knowledge, it is the only USAF organization to be awarded a U.S. Army Presidential Citation for Viet Nam Service. (It was awarded about 35 years after the fact). This is a good history of some true heros that too often only had each other to thank and encourage. This book is a great opportunity to learn more about Air Force missions and relatively unknown missions in Viet Nam and other arenas.
